    This is actually very good question. Autonomous cars are fully fledged automatically driver less cars. Because of driver less, these cars are fully controlled by softwares. Therefore, if we are able to protect these softwares from hacking consequently these cars will be also protected from the hackers/attacks. There are so many ways to protect the softwares from Hackers/attacks. Some of them are:

    1. Use high security.
    2. Step 2 verification password
    3. Minimise bugs
    4. Avoid loop hole in the functional programming
    5. Use authenticate anti-viruses
    6. Use authorized internet network
    7. Avoid accessing the cars from unknown networks/devices
    8. Use all latest technologies while developing the softwares or operating the softwares/cars.

    However, whatever the ways for protecting a software from any attack or hackers, those all ways will work here.
