Omeprazole, is a proton pump inhibitor. It is sold under brand name losec, it is medication used in the treatment of gerd, peptic ulcer disease and zollinger syndrome.
It is also prevent upper gastric bleeding in people who are at high risk.
Mechanism of action :
It is a proton pump inhibitor. It inhibit parietal cell prontons and k+ atp pump. It inhibit final step of acid production.
In turn, omeprazole supree gastric basal and stimulated acid secretion.
Dose
40 mg daily once a day
Contraindications ;
In adequate vit B12
Low amount of magnesium in blood
Liver problems
Systemic lupus erythematous
